Groups representing more than 400 police agencies all across NYS urge the public’s support to stop empowering criminals

Police Head: “Any vote for Monica Martinez…is one vote too many”

A never-seen alliance of law enforcement organizations, representing more than 400 police agencies from across New York State—from Suffolk County to cities, towns, and villages along the Canadian border—has joined to urge voters to support Alexis Weik for Senate and stop the radical pro-criminal and anti-police agenda that has resulted in a shocking increase in crime and violence in communities everywhere.

The groups of 23 police groups range from large police organizations like the Suffolk, Nassau, and New York City PBAs, as well as those representing the smaller city, county, town, and village departments, and virtually every police agency on Long Island, and are in addition to other law enforcement groups already endorsing Weik. Together they represent hundreds of thousands of police officers and their families across New York.

They selected Weik and just five others as the best candidates to help overturn the dangerous bail “reform” enacted by Senator Monica Martinez that lets loose 90 percent of dangerous criminals without regard to public safety, as well as a catalog of anti-police laws that are directly linked to growing crime and violence and attacks on police.

“Radical New York City Democrats have taken control of Albany and made police — not criminals — public enemy number one. The weak officials who supported these measures must be held accountable on Nov. 3 and removed from office so that sensible leaders can return sanity to our state,” said Noel DiGerolamo, president of the Suffolk County PBA. “Any vote for Monica Martinez…is one vote too many.”

The anti-police package of bills that they passed has directly and significantly contributed to the rise in violent crime that is afflicting our state. We need state senators who will protect the citizenry, not the criminals,” said Richard Wells, President of the Police Conference of New York, which represents more than 230 police agencies statewide.

“The Democrats throughout New York State are speaking out of both sides of their mouths; they claim to support police and law and order, but at the same time they’re pandering to and collaborating with radical and divisive groups,” said Nassau County Detectives’ Association President John Wighaus.

“When it mattered, (Senate Democrats) betrayed their constituents and voted with the radical cop-haters and pro-criminal activists.” NYC PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said.

“Monica Martinez put the rights and interests of the radical anti-police mob ahead of law-abiding citizens and the result is more crime and more violence. This unprecedented show of support by law enforcement shows the urgent need for change. As Senator, I’ll restore common sense, respect for police and safer communities,” said Weik.

The wife and mother of police officers, Weik is seeking to represent the 3rd Senate District, comprising parts of the Towns of Brookhaven and Islip.
