U.S. CHAMBER ENDORSES ANDREW GARBARINO FOR CONGRESS

Sayville, N.Y.- The U.S. Chamber announced its endorsement of Andrew Garbarino in NY-02 over several Republican and Democrat candidates in the race.

Statement from Thomas Donohue, U.S. Chamber CEO:

“In difficult times, we are reminded of the importance of having leaders that understand the genius of the American system of government and free enterprise and who are willing to tackle the hard problems that confront our nation,” said U.S. Chamber CEO Thomas J. Donohue.  “As we take on this pandemic and work to not just reopen our economy, but return to growth, and expanded opportunities for all Americans, we need leaders like Andrew Garbarino who have a proven track record of legislating responsibly and standing up for good policies. The U.S. Chamber is proud to lend its endorsement to Andrew and looks forward to partnering with him in the future.”

Statement from Richard Carpenter, West Islip Chamber of Commerce President:

“As a NYS Assemblyman, Andrew is a champion for small businesses,” Carpenter said. “He’s gained a reputation in New York as someone who quietly gets things done behind the scenes, leaving the credit for others. He is smart, dedicated and someone who has the capacity to continue Peter King’s legacy.”

“It is an honor to have the endorsement of the U.S. Chamber in our race to keep NY-02 in Republican hands,” Garbarino said. “As a third-generation small business owner, I understand more than most candidates what our small businesses are going through on Long Island. Now more than ever they need a Representative who will continue to fight on their behalf as Rep. Peter King has for so many years and I look forward to being their advocate in Congress.”

Garbarino for Congress adds the U.S. Chamber endorsement to an already impressive list of local and national endorsements since announcing his candidacy in late Q4 2019:

  • Rep. Peter King (R-Incumbent)

  • Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy

  • Republican Whip Steve Scalise

  • NYS Republican Congressional Delegation

  • NYS Republican Party

  • NYS Conservative Party

  • Suffolk County GOP

  • Nassau County GOP

  • Countless NY-02 elected officials and community leaders

  • Will appear on at least the Conservative, Libertarian and SAM Party Lines in November.
